What interviewers listen for
Can you introduce yourself in 60–90 seconds without reading? Can you give one specific example with a result? Can they follow you without translating in their head?
Accent is rarely the reason someone loses the job. Unclear structure and empty claims are.
Prepare these three answers first
- Tell me about yourself — present, past, future, tied to this job
- A project you owned — what you did, not what “the team” did
- A problem you solved — STAR: situation, task, action, result
Common mistakes we hear
Memorizing a paragraph that collapses when they ask a follow-up. Using buzzwords with no numbers. Speaking too fast to hide nerves. Ending every answer with “that’s it.”
Practice out loud. Record yourself. Cut fillers. Add one number. That is a better week of prep than rereading grammar notes.
