Guide

Your CV is being read by software first.

Large employers in Saudi Arabia often parse CVs with an Applicant Tracking System. If the file is a designed infographic, or the keywords from the posting are missing, a recruiter may never see you.

What ATS software actually checks

  • Standard section titles: Experience, Education, Skills
  • Keywords from the job description — tools, methods, domain words
  • A parseable layout (simple headings beat fancy columns)
  • Dates, job titles, and consistent formatting

Match the posting without lying

Copy the job description into a document. Highlight skills you truly have. Those words should appear in your bullets in a natural way.

If the posting asks for Google Analytics and you have never used it, do not add it. Put it on a learning list. KalimaCareer will flag missing keywords instead of fabricating them.

Quick wins

  • Export a text-based PDF, not a screenshot of a Canva poster
  • Lead bullets with a verb and a result: “Grew… by 18%”
  • Put the target job title near the top if you are applying to that role
  • Keep design simple: one column, readable fonts, no text in images
